Several patient advocacy groups can provide important resources and support.

For Patients with Multiple Myeloma:

Myeloma Canada:  As a patient-driven, patient-focused organization, Myeloma Canada works with over a dozen local support groups across Canada, strengthening the voice of the Canadian myeloma community and improving the quality of life of myeloma patients, their caregivers and families.

International Myeloma Foundation:  Founded in 1990, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is the oldest and largest myeloma-specific charity in the world. With more than 350,000 members in 140 countries, the IMF serves myeloma patients, family members, and the medical community. The IMF provides a wide range of programs in the areas of Research, Education, Support, and Advocacy.

For Patients with Kidney Disease:

Kidney Foundation of Canada: The Kidney Foundation of Canada exists for the enhancement of kidney health and the reduction and, if possible, the elimination of the burden of kidney diseases.  The primary beneficiaries are people at risk of or affected by kidney disease.

National Kidney Foundation: The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their families, and tens of millions of Americans at risk.
